The Verkhovna Rada appointed People's Deputy from "Servants of the People" Denys Monastyrsky to the post of Minister of Internal Affairs. The corresponding decision was made on July 16 at a session of the parliament.
This appointment was supported by 271 people's deputies.
Since 2020, Monastyrsky has been the chairman of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Law Enforcement.
As a reminder, the previous head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Arsen Avakov, held this position for more than seven years. Monastyrsky's candidacy was proposed by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
