On the afternoon of July 16, the "Effective industry for defense" forum was launched in Odessa, which was attended by the highest officials of the country and the first persons of the Odessa region. The forum will last two days.
According to Yuriy Gusev, General Director of Ukroboronprom, investment in innovation and intelligence is the foundation of future victories.
"The topics that will be discussed at the forum for two days are what you need to pay attention to today in order to be stronger tomorrow," he said.
Odesa Oblast was represented at the event by the Chairman of the Oblast State Administration Serhiy Hrynevetskyi and First Deputy Chairman of the Odesa Oblast Council Oleg Radkovsky.
Oleksandr Pavlyuk, Commander of Training of the Land Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, also addressed the participants of the forum, noting that compared to 2014, the Ukrainian army has made a significant step forward and noted that now the priority is the development and modernization of communications, unmanned aerial vehicles, EW systems, artillery reconnaissance means and combat vehicles.
During the next two days, international and Ukrainian experts, representatives of the defense industry and politicians will discuss the use of unmanned vehicles in the army, which can change the tactics and strategy of combat operations. In addition, the participants will exchange opinions on the priority areas of development of the defense industry of Ukraine.
On Saturday, July 17, the Deputy Assistant Secretary General of NATO for Defense Investments, Gordon Skip Davis, is scheduled to speak. His speech will be devoted to the development of cooperation between Ukraine and the Alliance in the field of defense and the approximation of the Ukrainian defense industry to NATO standards.
