The police exposed two residents of the Podolsk region who were illegally cutting down a forest in the northern part of the Odesa region.
As reported by the State Police of Odesa region, law enforcement officers caught a 53-year-old resident of Ananyev "red handed": at the moment when he was felling oak trees near the village of Tochilovo. A 45-year-old resident of Lyubashevka had already cut down such trees near the village of Soltanovka and had loaded his car with them.
In total, illegal loggers appropriated more than ten cubic meters of wood. The police took their truck to the penalty area, and the chainsaws were seized.
"In order to identify "black loggers", we constantly conduct joint raids with representatives of forestry, railway guards, and cooperate with village elders. We urge citizens to comply with environmental legislation, and if they witness a violation of the law, report it on the special line "102", - commented the deputy chief of the police department of the Podolsk district police department, Sergey Todorov.
