In the Odesa region, the police detained an organized criminal group of "black loggers", led by a deputy of the city council from "Servants of the People"

As reported in the press service of the State Police, the damage caused by illegal activities is estimated at least in one million hryvnias.

The group consisted of four people - residents of Odesa and Kirovohrad regions. Roles were clearly assigned among the participants: personnel selection, coordination and control, felling and processing of wood, transporting it to sales points. Part of the production was sold on forged documents in the territory of the region, the rest was delivered to an enterprise that produces charcoal.

Law enforcement officers conducted authorized searches at the places of residence of the defendants, the storage of charcoal and wood, and the vehicles used by the participants in the criminal scheme. 205 thousand were seized from them. hryvnias, 178 US dollars and 48 euros, wood, drafts, weapons, cartridges of various calibers, in particular, without markings.

The organizer and his accomplices were charged with suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 27, Part 3 of Art. 28, Part 4 of Art. 246 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal felling or illegal transportation, storage, sale of forest).

According to local media, it is a deputy of the Baltsky City Council from the "Servant of the People" party, farmer Roman Voytenko.
