The mayor of Lviv refuses to introduce quarantine for the New Year holidays

He noted that there will be no closures in the city on holidays

Mayor of Lviv Andrey Sadovoi said that 49% of hospital beds reserved for patients with coronavirus are occupied in the city today. And since there is a "special atmosphere" in the city on the eve of Christmas, no restrictions will apply.

This was reported by the press service of the Lviv City Council.

"I look at the number of people who are sick in Ukraine. To be honest, the growth is very serious. However, in Lviv, the situation is basically the same as the number of people who have fallen ill in every district. We have about 49% of beds occupied in our city communal hospitals," he said. At the same time, Sadovoi clarified that on the eve of Christmas in the city, there is a "special atmosphere."

"For example, we understand that Christmas cannot be canceled, because we always have a special atmosphere in Lviv at this time. A lot of people want to see her, and this must be taken into account, because no restrictions will apply. I am of the opinion that it is necessary to monitor the situation daily and send more messages from the point of view of wearing a mask and observing quarantine," he said.
