On Saturday, January 30, six Ukrainian sailors who were held captive by pirates in Nigeria were released. This was reported by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi Instagram.
"Today, 6 Ukrainian sailors - members of the crew of the Stevia ship, who were held captive by pirates in Nigeria for a month and a half, were released. Our citizens are safe, we are waiting for them to return to their families as soon as possible."

The President thanked the Ukrainian diplomats and everyone who was involved in the liberation of Ukrainian citizens.
Let us remind you that last December in the waters of the Gulf of Guinea, armed pirates seized the ship STEVIA and took hostage its eight crew members, among whom were 6 Ukrainians.
