Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security Council, noted that users of the Russian social network "VKontakte" in Ukraine may have problems with the law.
He stated this today, September 25, during the presentation of the Global Center for Interaction in Cyberspace.
— I would like to draw the attention of the users of the resource, which is prohibited. It should be their responsibility, why they do it and for what. The fact is that now the system that is starting to work, we will have an understanding of all these users, they will be kept on record, and if they continue to distribute Russian content on the territory of the country, they will have certain problems directly with our police and by our security forces, - Danilov said.
In addition, the NSDO plans to block VKontakte with the help of foreign partners.
— In our country, according to the legislation on sanctions, VKontakte is not allowed to work on the territory of the country. Unfortunately, today this is exactly the conversation that is happening about the cyber protection of those or other institutions from this influence. We are dealing with these issues today. Specialists understand what they are talking about. They change proxies very quickly, and we don't have time to track it. There are institutions in the country that are responsible for this. Now these are in the works. We believe that this issue will be resolved in the near future with the help of our foreign partners, - said Danilov.
As a reminder, recently it became known that access of Ukrainians to the VKontakte social network, blocked in the country, became possible through a mobile application without the use of a VPN. However, some users reported that their access was opened about a year ago.
However, anyone could use the Russian social network with the help of a VPN.
