The head of the Constitutional Court refuses to go to the HGB for questioning

Alexander Tupytskyi said that he will not appear for questioning at the State Bureau of Investigation

The head of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine (CC) Oleksandr Tupytskyi said that he would not appear for questioning at the State Bureau of Investigations based on the subpoena received on Friday morning.

"I ask you not to be surprised that I did not appear for the interrogation. Why? In fact, my suspicion was made public. What kind of witness am I after that?" Tupytskyi said at a press conference on Friday in Kyiv.

The head of the Constitutional Court noted that the night before, he was being searched by two investigators of the Central Bureau of Investigation.

"Yesterday evening, at 11 o'clock at night, two investigators are looking for me to serve a subpoena as a witness. When the court received an official summons by e-mail today. Why look for the head of the court at 11 o'clock at night, he enters the house where there is a concierge, they ask how the head of the court is coming - with security or not, what entrances he uses, at what time it happens. These are two investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation. As soon as they somehow recognize my wife's phone and send this summons to her on WhatsApp, there is immediately a comment on the air about why they are calling, on the official website of the GBR, why they are calling the head of the Central Committee. On verification of involvement in crimes that are verified in the system of economic courts, where I used to work. It's about automatic distribution and another," he said.

Tupytsky clarified that the case in question concerns the events of 2013-2014, for which he has already been questioned twice.

"I was interrogated by Horbatyuk's department. You understand that this is a department that did not obey even the Prosecutor General Lutsenko. And if there was suspicion, I would already be there with suspicion. Ryaboshapka checked this question at the provocation of certain persons. No suspicion was served," he said.

"That's why the procedural law is valid - there are grounds, there is a procedural guidance of the general prosecutor's office, then please - interrogations, defense and so on," Tupytsky summarized.

As reported, the FBI released Tupytskyi for questioning on November 2.

"The head of the KSU is being investigated by way of investigation for participation in a criminal organization, crimes committed as part of it, as well as for taking measures to conceal criminals. For this purpose, the investigator of the State Bureau of Investigation summoned the head of the KSU for questioning on November 02.11.2020, XNUMX," the Bureau reported.
