On Friday, October 15, the Ukrainian delegation in Paris submitted an application for participation in the World Exhibition "Expo-2030" competition in 2030, which is proposed to be held in Odessa. This was reported by the director of the Department of Investment and Foreign Economic Activities, International Cooperation and Tourism of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Roman Hrygoryshyn.
If Ukraine wins, the organizers of the application offer to place it in the Irrigation Fields district from May 1 to October 31.
"We did it! Ukraine will fight for the right to host the Expo-2030 World Exhibition in Odessa. Today, our delegation submitted a letter of application for participation in the selection of a candidate country to hold an exhibition in Odessa to the General Secretary of the International Bureau of Exhibitions, Dimitr Kerketzes. We will compete with South Korea (Pusan), Italy (Rome) and Russia (Moscow). Applications are accepted until October 29, 2021. The winning country will be chosen in the summer of 2023," said Roman Hrygoryshyn.
The decision is made by secret ballot by the International Bureau of Exhibitions (Bureau International des Expositions, BIE).
We note that the Expo World Exhibitions have been held since 1851 and are recognized as the most influential exhibitions held by different countries on the planet. On them, the participating countries demonstrate the uniqueness of their cultures and national identity, their economic and scientific and technical potential.
The theme of "Expo-2030" will be the slogan "Rebirth. Technologies. The future".
