The former deputy of the State Duma of Russia, the former Prosecutor General of the annexed Crimea, the former Ukrainian prosecutor Natalya Poklonskaya, who became one of the symbols of separatism, were sent into honorary exile.
The Kremlin appointed her ambassador to the small African country of Cape Verde, which is located on the Cape Verde islands.
However, Ukrainian law enforcement officers have already promised to get her there as well. In Ukraine, Poklonskaya is wanted for treason, separatism, seizure of power and participation in a criminal organization. In addition, cases were brought against her for banning the Majlis in Crimea.
In October 2016, she left the position of the Prosecutor General in the occupied Crimea due to her election to the State Duma. Poklonskaya was elected to the parliament on behalf of United Russia. Poklonskaya did not participate in the 2021 elections. A source close to the Kremlin previously told the RBC publication that neither the presidential administration, nor United Russia, nor the leadership of Crimea, from which she was elected, wanted to see her in the next convocation of the State Duma due to her not quite systematic behavior and extravagant statements.
