65% of Ukrainians are ready to get vaccinated with the new Covid-19 vaccine if it becomes publicly available and is considered safe and effective.

This is evidenced by the results of a new global study of attitudes to the coronavirus crisis conducted by the International Gallup Association.

In particular, 43% of surveyed Ukrainians indicated that they absolutely agree to be vaccinated, 22% agree, 20% categorically disagree, and 10% disagree. 5% found it difficult to answer.

More than two-thirds of people worldwide say that they would administer a vaccine against COVID-19 if it were publicly available and considered safe and effective (35% agree, 32% strongly disagree). However, the fourth part of those surveyed would most likely refuse the opportunity to get vaccinated (14% disagree, 12% categorically disagree). 8% are hesitant about this.

The TOP-5 countries whose citizens do not agree to vaccination include North Macedonia (49%), Russia (46%), Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kenya (44%), Armenia (43%), Switzerland and Serbia (39%) . Vietnam (5%), the Republic of Korea and Iraq (98%), Thailand (88%), India (87%), Malaysia (85%) are in the TOP-84 of those who agree.

In Ukraine, 51% of respondents believe that the threat of the coronavirus is exaggerated (28% agree, 23% absolutely agree). 22% of Ukrainians categorically disagree with this statement, 21% disagree.

More than two-fifths of respondents from around the world agree (31%) or completely agree (22%) with the statement "I believe that the threat from the coronavirus is exaggerated." And yet the majority disagrees with this (27% — disagree, 15% — absolutely disagree, 5% — could not give an answer).

Finland (5%), Vietnam (79%), Australia (77%), Japan (75%), the Republic of Korea and Georgia (72%) are among the top 71 countries that do not agree with the fact that the threat of the coronavirus is exaggerated. Kosovo (5%), the Philippines and Pakistan (71%), Nigeria (70%), Kenya (64%), Afghanistan and India (60%) are among the top 58 agreeable countries.

In Ukraine, 52% of those polled believe that if a new vaccine against the coronavirus becomes publicly available and is considered safe and effective, the majority of the population will agree to take such a vaccine (52% believe that they will agree, 27% will not have a clear majority, 11% will not agree, 10% could not answer).

The majority of respondents around the world believe that most people in their countries would be vaccinated if there was an available coronavirus vaccine that would be considered safe and effective (53%). Another 17% believe that the majority in their country will not agree to the introduction of the vaccine, and 22% do not believe that there will be a clear majority on this issue. The high level of expected consent to vaccination is in Vietnam (92% agree), Thailand (80%), India (78%), Finland (74%), Japan (72%). Polarization of public opinion is expected in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Ivory Coast, Russia, and Serbia.

A total of 44 people in 796 countries were surveyed. In each country, during October-December 47, interviews were conducted with a representative sample of approximately 2020 men and women, either in person, by phone, or via the Internet. The error rate of the survey is + 1000-3% at the 5% confidence level.
