Ukraine plans to launch its satellite with a SpaceX rocket in December

Negotiations are underway now

Ukraine has preliminarily chosen Elon Musk's American company SpaceX to launch the Sich 2-30 (2-1) earth remote sensing satellite (DZZ) in December of this year and is currently conducting technical negotiations with it.

This was reported by the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine Oleg Uruskyi.

"We really have a window to launch the device in December with the help of a foreign operator - in this case, SpaceX, with which we are currently cooperating from the point of view of compatibility of the device with the launch vehicle," said the Deputy Prime Minister in an interview on the Pervyi Delova TV channel.

According to him, the corresponding decision was taken by the president.

Urusky specified that the work with SpaceX is going on intensively and in the near future it will be clear whether it is fundamentally possible to combine the Ukrainian satellite with the SpaceX rocket carrier.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the satellite is almost ready today. "It requires a final analysis and operational checks of technical readiness for launch," he explained. Urusky added that he personally visited the Dnipro on Yuzhmash, where he checked the real state of the spacecraft.

He reminded that the last time Ukraine launched a remote earth sensing satellite was 10 years ago, so the launch of a new satellite will be an outstanding event.
