Customs officials found 17 tons of branded items, 8 boxes of well-known brands of perfume and 2165 kg of hookah tobacco in Chernomorsk, Odesa region. This was reported in the customs press service.
The goods arrived in Chernomorsk from Turkey in four trucks. At the same time, in the customs declaration, all this was declared as "fabric" in the assortment, but in fact it was hidden in a fabric cloth with a total weight of 7 tons.
It was possible to detect smuggling thanks to the coordinated interaction of representatives of the Department for Combating Contraband and Customs Offenses of the State Customs Service, Odessa Customs, border guards, SBU, Coordination and Monitoring Customs and the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police.
Protocols on violation of customs rules have been drawn up on this fact. The goods, the value of which will be determined by relevant experts, were seized.
