Ukraine may soon switch to planned blackout schedules. Given the situation in the energy system today, the capacity deficit will remain throughout the winter. At the same time, planned power outages will be possible in a few days.
This was announced by Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, the chairman of the board of NEC "Ukrenergo" during a briefing on Friday, December 9.
"If we proceed from today's situation, from today's composition of generation, we understand that the deficit will exist at least during the winter period," said the chairman of the board of NEC "Ukrenergo".
Kudrytskyi emphasized that the power system is currently undergoing a gradual restoration of generating capacity.
"Gradually, the amount of generation available to us is increasing, thereby reducing the deficit. I think that in a few days we will reach the limit, when it will be possible to clearly observe the scheduled shutdown schedules in the regions, which are introduced by Oblenergo," added the head of Ukrenergo.
According to him, the energy industry is now "quite close" to bringing the capacity deficit to such parameters that Ukraine will once again be able to return to the planned schedules.
"There are restrictions on generation throughout the country, so energy companies still need time. It's about days, not hours or weeks. There are many questions when we will give up graphs altogether and we will have 100% light. Until the end of March is the basic scenario, which will be good for us if we survive the winter and the beginning of spring in stabilization schedules," he said.
Kudrytsky emphasized that the most difficult situation with light is in Odesa and Kyiv regions.
