"Among the effective draft laws that the state needs today, the Verkhovna Rada is also considering some that are not just alarming - they cannot be accepted. Such, in particular, is the draft law on the corporatization of Energoatom. The "Batkivshchyna" deputy faction in the parliament managed to prevent the deputies from voting for this document, which is controversial for the state," Yulia Tymoshenko, head of the "Batkivshchyna" party, emphasized this on the air of the national telethon "Yedini Novyni".
The politician noted that in the parliament she and her colleagues fought to prevent the adoption of the law on corporatization, because it is the first step towards the privatization of Energoatom.
"These are our generating stations that produce nuclear electricity, which is the cheapest. When there is no electricity, when it has become the first issue of our security, corporatization is madness," said the People's Deputy.
Yulia Tymoshenko is convinced that the wealth of Ukraine, in particular the national value of "Energoatom", as in all countries that built nuclear power plants at state expense, should be left in state ownership.
"Our faction was the only one in the parliament that fought for this draft law not to be adopted. We prepared hundreds of edits and got our way. But this does not mean that this issue will not be raised again. Therefore, I draw the attention of the public that now, during the war, the state enterprise "Energoatom" is being turned into a joint-stock company, and then these shares will be manipulated in every possible way. The draft law is terrible, so it cannot be allowed to be adopted," warned Yulia Tymoshenko.
