In 2021, more than 300 transplants were performed in Ukraine - this is an absolute record for the entire history of independence. This was reported by the head of the Ministry of Health, Viktor Lyashko.
The head of the Ministry of Health also noted that twice as many patients were sent abroad for treatment this hour.
"For the first time, a heart was transplanted to children, a lung transplant was performed, and a simultaneous transplant was performed (the patient's heart and kidneys were transplanted at the same time). In addition, 226 kidneys, 49 livers and 32 hearts were transplanted," said Lyashko.
