In Odessa, a man fell under a tram and lost his legs. As reported to journalists in press-service of the utility company "Odesgorelektrotrans", the incident happened yesterday at 21:10 in the area of Derevyanko Square.
"A male pedestrian, crossing a separate tramway in an unspecified place, lost his footing and fell under the front part of the carriage of tram route No. 10, which was heading to Starosennaya Square," the press service said.
As a result of the accident, the man received serious injuries and was taken to a medical facility.
On social networks, eyewitnesses reported that the young man probably slipped.
"His legs were cut off. The victim shouted to the entire street," eyewitnesses write, stressing that they were shocked by what happened.
The police, emergency services and medics arrived at the scene, but for some time they could not do anything, as they were waiting for the special crane needed to lift the tram. After special equipment arrived and raised the tram, the man was taken away by an ambulance. According to eyewitnesses, the female tram driver "was hysterical" because of what happened.
