The funds allocated to the state budget for 2021 will not be enough to vaccinate and treat Ukrainians against the coronavirus infection.
This was announced in a statement by the National Health Service of Ukraine on Facebook.
Thus, in the next year's budget, 123 billion hryvnias are allocated to the Medical Guarantee Program. But with such financing, there will not be enough funds for a number of referrals. In particular, this budget provides only 19 billion hryvnias for the treatment of patients with COVID-14,5 for the whole hour. Taking into account the dynamics of morbidity, already in the II quarter of 2021, it will be necessary to reduce treatment costs by a factor of 10.
In addition, the budget does not have enough funds to finance the primary level of medical care and vaccination against COVID-19.
"This is a matter of national security. The governments of the USA, Germany and many other countries are already preparing for a large-scale vaccination project. And on the part of Ukraine, it will be a responsible and well-considered step to allocate funds for this and provide citizens with protection against the disease," the statement says.
Also, the budget of 123 billion hryvnias will not allow to introduce additional payments to doctors for achieving quality indicators. It will also be necessary to reduce the number of services for early cancer diagnosis, which the state will pay for patients.
