The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, appealed to the member of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, Wang Yi, with a request to assist in the early delivery of the Chinese vaccine against the coronavirus to Ukraine.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
"Dmytry Kuleba expressed his gratitude for the assistance provided by the government of the People's Republic of China to the government of Ukraine in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic during the past year and appealed to his Chinese colleague to facilitate the speedy granting of permission to export the Chinese vaccine against the coronavirus to Ukraine," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported, noting that this is already the second telephone conversation of the ministers in less than an hour.
"We consider the issue of vaccine cooperation not just as an intergovernmental agreement, but as interaction between the peoples of China and Ukraine," Kuleba commented on the appeal.
Wang Yi, as indicated, assured Dmitry Kuleba of the readiness of the Chinese government to further support Ukraine in the fight against COVID-19, until the pandemic is completely overcome.
The parties positively noted last year's growth, even despite the COVID-19 pandemic, in the volume of trade between Ukraine and China by 20% to a record 15 billion US dollars.
