Today, January 21, a nursing home caught fire.
It is reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
It is known that at least 15 people died. Five more were injured. Extinguishing the fire continues.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reacted to the incident.
"I know that the rescuers are on the scene and putting out the fire from the first minutes. I instruct the Cabinet of Ministers to immediately understand the situation. It is urgent to create a State Commission under the chairmanship of the Minister of Community and Territory Development to find out the causes of this tragedy and develop mechanisms to prevent similar emergency situations in the future.
The Minister of Internal Affairs should open and take under personal control the relevant criminal case and as soon as possible answer the question of what are the causes of the tragedy and who is to blame for it.
I call on the local authorities - the leaders of cities and regions - to cooperate with the central government as much as possible and to do everything possible to help the victims and relatives who lost their loved ones. My sincere condolences"
