In Kyiv, near the monument to the tankmen-liberators from the fascist invaders, festive events were held for Tanker Day. This was reported in the Department of Public Relations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As part of the celebration, demonstrative performances by the orchestra and honor guard of the Separate Presidential Regiment named after Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, a celebratory march and laying of flowers at the monument were held.
Those present also observed a minute of silence for the tank soldiers who died during the Russian-Ukrainian war.
Note that Tankers Day in Ukraine is celebrated on the second Sunday of September. The holiday was established in 1997 by the second president of Ukraine, Leonid Kuchma.
