The court ordered the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko to pay the gas debt that he incurred in the period 2018-2019. The amount of the debt is 76 thousand hryvnias. This became known from the court decision.
"I did not agree with the unreasonably large additional volumes of gas that Kyivoblgazsbyt charged me. In July 2019, before my appointment to a position in the government, I filed a lawsuit against Oblgazsbyt in the Vasylkovsky district court of the Kyiv region. The volumes of the allegedly supplied gas were calculated based on the readings of an old, unused meter," Galushchenko explained the situation on Facebook.
The non-payer asked the Cabinet to declare the arrears for the consumed gas unfounded, recalculate the payment and restore the disconnected gas supply. According to him, the gas meter "broke" and showed inflated data.
According to the court's decision dated September 21 of this year, Galushchenko's claim was not satisfied and the plaintiff was ordered to pay the accrued amount in full. The instance billed Galushchenko for 76 hryvnias.
"I filed an appeal and plan to use all possible legal means so that they do not pay for the gas that I did not use. If the appeal supports the decision of the first instance, then I will pay the amount established by the court. At the same time, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that Kyivoblgazsbyt LLC did not file lawsuits against me for recovery of funds," noted Herman Galushchenko.
Note that during the court hearings, it became known that in the fall of 2018, after Galushchenko was disconnected from the gas supply, representatives of the regional gas company found signs of unauthorized resumption of gas supply and damage to the seal on the meter. Specialists drew up an act of violation. The document was signed by one of Galushchenko's representatives and his bodyguard.
Also, the heads of the Ministry of Energy and Regional Gas had the opportunity to resolve the dispute on the condition that the minister allows gas workers to the meter. However, according to representatives of the gas supplier, this was not done.
