The head of the National Security Council, Aleksey Danilov, believes that in Ukraine, the president should be elected in the Verkhovna Rada. He said this in an interview RBC-Ukraine, published on October 25.
He noted that the president is elected by the people and hopes are placed on him, but according to the Constitution, Ukraine is a parliamentary-presidential republic.
According to Danilov, in this case it would be logical to elect the president in the parliament and "put an end to this issue".
"I can say that I am for a tough presidential republic. Why? Because then there is a responsible person who understands what he is doing," he said.
Let us remind you that earlier Danilov spoke about the transition of the Ukrainian language from Cyrillic to Latin.
