The Armenian army demands the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, as well as the government

The Armenian army demands the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, as well as the government.

The Armenian General Staff stated that "the prime minister and the government are no longer capable of making adequate decisions at this fateful and critical moment."

The reason for the demand for resignation was the dismissal of the deputy chief of the general staff, who mocked Pashinyan's words about the "Iskanders" (Pashinyan said that Russian missiles in Karabakh did not explode or "exploded by 10%).

In a statement signed by Chief of the General Staff Onik Gasparian, all his deputies, heads of departments and commanders of all major military formations (signed by 40 people), it is said that the General Staff expresses its decisive protest against short-sighted and unreasonable steps, in particular, the dismissal of the first deputy chief of the General Staff .

The military believes that the decision to dismiss Tirana Khachatryan was made without taking into account the national and state interests of Armenia, based solely on personal ambitions.

"In such difficult conditions, such a decision is an anti-state and irresponsible step," the statement says.

The statement states that the Prime Minister of Armenia and the government are no longer capable of making adequate decisions at this fateful and critical moment.

"The Armed Forces of Armenia have long patiently endured the attacks of the current authorities against the army, but there is a limit to everything. The armed forces of Armenia honorably fulfilled their duty, fighting the enemy side by side with the people. Inefficient management of the current authorities and serious mistakes in foreign policy have brought the country to the brink of destruction," the statement says.

Based on the current situation, the Armed Forces demand the resignation of the Prime Minister and the government, while simultaneously warning against the use of force against the people.

Armenian websites and telegram channels report that all over Yerevan people are taking to the streets in support of the statement of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Pashinyan.

People chant "Nikol is a traitor" and go to the city center.

In turn, Pashinyan announced the preparation of a military coup and called on his supporters to also go to the city center.

"I invite all our supporters to Republic Square right now. In the near future, I will make a speech live," Pashinyan said.

He also dismissed the chief of the General Staff, who signed a statement demanding the resignation of the prime minister.
