The US State Department issued a statement, according to which the States believe that the Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny was poisoned with "Novichok" by FSB employees of the Russian Federation, and that the Russian authorities are behind this crime.
It is reported CNN.
"The United States believes that FSB officers used the nerve agent Novichok to poison Navalny. There is no plausible explanation for the poisoning of Navalny, except for the participation and responsibility of the Russian government," the department said in a statement. In addition, the US State Department stated that the Russian authorities cannot clearly explain what happened to Navalny, building numerous and contradictory conspiracy theories. So, for example, at a press conference, Vladimir Putin stated that the investigation into the involvement of the FSB in the poisoning of Navalny is a "legalization of the materials of the American special services."
The US authorities, in turn, expressed confidence in the veracity of the conclusion of the OPCW, according to which Navalny was poisoned with "Novichok", the message says.
Two CNN interlocutors also said that they had already developed a new package of sanctions against Russia for the poisoning of Navalny. But in order to accept them, the full consent of the US government, including President Donald Trump, is necessary.
Trump has never once blamed Russia for what happened to Navalny.
