Quarantine is being tightened in Israel due to the worsening of the epidemiological situation caused by the Covid-19 epidemic. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, the video was published on his Facebook page.
The quarantine will last for 14 days and will begin to operate as early as Friday, September 25. At the end of this period, restrictions will be eased in the country.
— In order to save the lives of Israelis, we must announce a complete quarantine for two weeks, which will begin next Friday and last until the end of Simchat Torah. After this, there will be another two weeks of quarantine, I hope, not very strict, but I say in advance: it all depends on the indicators of morbidity, - he said.
According to him, the incidence of coronavirus infection in Israel is increasing, and the number of seriously ill and deceased is increasing. The Prime Minister added that as soon as the situation allows, the government will return to the "Traffic Light" program and to normal life in the conditions of the pandemic.
— Those who think that it is possible to continue working during a pandemic, with an increase in mortality and morbidity without consequences for the economy, are mistaken. And if we are required to take tough measures, it is better to do it now, during the holiday period, when economic activity is reduced, - added the politician.
