Swiss authorities will now take into account the financial situation of Ukrainian refugees when considering applications for social assistance.
To date, more than 60 Ukrainians have arrived in Switzerland and received S protection status, which allows them to receive social assistance and work in the country.
Last week, the cantonal authorities responsible for social assistance agreed to tighten the rules - so that a refugee's income and assets are taken into account regardless of whether they were obtained in Ukraine or Switzerland.
This means that if people with S status withdraw funds from bank accounts in Ukraine or buy other assets there, these funds must be taken into account in the assessment of their income.
The only exception is the car, as it is necessary to return to the homeland.
