Israel, the UAE and Bahrain signed a historic agreement on the normalization of relations

It is assumed that five more Arab countries will sign an agreement with Israel in the future

In Washington, on September 15, a ceremony was held to sign the historic agreement on the normalization of relations between Israel and the two countries of the Persian Gulf - the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain ("Abraham Agreement"). He writes about it NEWSru.co.il.

The UAE and Bahrain became the third and fourth Arab states to sign agreements with Israel, after Egypt in 1979 and Jordan in 1994.

The agreements were signed by US President Donald Trump, Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu and foreign ministers of the Persian Gulf countries - Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan (UAE) and Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayan (Bahrain).

In his speech, Trump repeated the statement made even before the signing ceremony that the UAE and Bahrain will be followed by five more Arab countries, as well as the agreement with the Palestinian Authority.

The US president was followed by Benjamin Netanyahu, followed by UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Note that in his speech, the UAE Foreign Minister thanked Netanyahu for refusing to annex the disputed territories.

Representatives of Oman and Sudan were seen among the guests. It is assumed that these countries will be the next to sign an agreement with Israel.
