Odesa karateka won "gold" at a prestigious tournament in Paris

The Ukrainian team took second place overall.

At the Paris Open-2022 competitions in France, the silver medalist of the 2020 Olympics, Odessa athlete Anzhelika Terlyuga won gold in the weight category up to 55 kg. In the final, she defeated France's Tilla Levache with a score of 2:1.

Terlyuga became the only athlete not from France who was able to win a medal of the highest dignity.

"Gold. My 2022 season is off to a great start. I continue to work hard to achieve my goals. Thank you to everyone and my sponsors for their support," the athlete wrote on Instagram.

In the general competition, Ukrainian karate players took second place, won four medals. The first place behind the hosts of the tournament is the team of France, which received 31 medals.
