Thus, on November 30, the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) received the motivational part of the decision of the UEFA Appeals Committee, which is set out on 17 pages and signed by the head of the committee, Pedro Thomas Marquez. He believes that the main reason for the technical defeat of the Ukrainian national team is that the UAF did not foresee the possible need for a complete replacement of the team, after part of the national team received positive tests for the coronavirus. They note that the Ukrainian Football Association has ten days to to file a claim with the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne. Since before the last round Ukraine was ahead of Switzerland by three points and won the first match 2:1, the UEFA decision placed the Ukrainian national team in last place.
