The Ministry of Culture has officially confirmed that the Russian performer and People's Artist of Ukraine Philip Kirkorov has been excluded from the list of persons who represent a threat to Ukraine's national security. This is stated in communication, published on the department's website on Sunday, June 27.
The Ministry of Culture says that Kirkorov was removed from the list at the request of the SBU.
"According to the new letter of the Security Service of Ukraine with a request to withdraw the previous letter about the inclusion of Philip Kirkorov in the list of persons who threaten the national security of Ukraine, the Ministry of Culture excluded Kirkorov from this list," the message says.
"Including or excluding certain persons from the list, the ministry is only carrying out an administrative technical action regarding the publication in a legally defined way of the decision of the competent authorities (in this case, the SBU)," the ministry assures.
The SBU commented on the recommendation to exclude Philip Kirkorov from the black list due to the presence of certain "judicial precedents".
