Law enforcement officers detained two citizens on suspicion of fraudulent possession of immovable property of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine. This was reported in the press service of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office.
It was established that with the help of forged documents and a monetary reward to the state registrar, the perpetrators tried to re-register the ownership of a building in the center of Odessa with an area of more than 2 square meters to another person.
The detectives detained the businessmen after providing the notary with fictitious documents and 40. US dollars, ostensibly as gratitude for the re-registration of the ownership right.
Law enforcement officers continue the investigation. The actions of the suspects are qualified under Part 4 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Fraud) and Part 2 of Article 368-4 (Bribery of a person providing public services). They face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
