In Odesa, capital repairs of landscaping elements and engineering networks of Regensburg Square, located between Staroportofrankovska, Pyshonovska and Mechnikova, have begun. This is reported on the official website of the Odessa City Council.
Previously, the "Staroportofrankovskiy" park was located here. In February 2018, by decision of the city council session, it was named "Regensburg" in honor of Odessa's sister city.
There will be a modern recreation area in the park. They also plan to place a cascade of dry (pedestrian) fountains on its territory. They will be connected to water and electricity networks with an on/off timer setting.
Retaining walls, parapets and stairs will also be repaired in the park, and the pavement will be replaced.
Active recreation areas are organized in it - children's and sports grounds, including those intended for people with limited physical abilities.
In addition, the project specifies the installation of outdoor lighting, flower beds with planting flowers and other green plants, installation of park furniture, urns and dog boxes. In addition, it is planned to install a pavilion of a public toilet taking into account the requirements for servicing groups of the population with reduced mobility.
It should be noted that today in the park, dismantling work has been carried out, materials have been purchased, and preparations for concrete work are being carried out. The client of the improvement of the square is the Department of Capital Construction of the Odessa City Council. All work is planned to be completed by December 2022.
