The list of contraindications to the COVID-vaccination became known

The Ministry of Health approved the list of medical contraindications and cautions for vaccination against COVID-19. This was reported by the head of the Parliamentary Committee on Health of the Nation, Mikhail Radutsky, on his Facebook page.

He indicated that, under certain conditions, Ukrainians will be able to receive an official certificate from a doctor stating that they are prohibited from getting vaccinated.

The document indicates types of contraindications, for example, if there is a clearly defined probability of a serious adverse reaction. A total of 16 reasons were identified for refusing vaccination or carrying it out with caution.

Contraindications can be permanent or temporary - then the validity period is indicated in the certificate. They will work for all types of vaccines or only for a specific type. That is, if there is a possibility of vaccination with a second type of vaccine, the certificate is not provided.

"For example, the diagnosis of thrombosis with thrombocytopenia means in certain cases absolute permanent contraindications to vector-based vaccines (AstraZeneca and some others). As a result of myocarditis and/or pericarditis, mRNA vaccines (Pfizer/Moderna) are absolute contraindications. Vaccination with caution is recommended for persons with immunodeficiency," Radutsky clarified.

In the document, it was noted that in each specific case, the correspondence between the diagnosis and the contraindications is determined exclusively by the doctor.

Note that certificates of contraindications for vaccination will begin to be issued on November 8. Thus, Ukrainians will be able to avoid quarantine restrictions in force in the country.
