Azerbaijan and Armenia started a war again

Yerevan appealed to Russia for help, intense shelling and fighting are going on

On the night of September 13, the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan again entered a heated phase: the parties accused each other of shelling and sabotage.

Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan held a meeting of the Security Council.

At the meeting, it was decided to turn to the Russian Federation and ask for help from the member countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization due to the "aggression committed by Azerbaijan against the sovereign territory of Armenia."

Armenia said that the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan are striking settlements along the border with Armenia with the help of artillery, mortars and drones in the direction of the settlements of Goris, Sotk and Jermuk.

The authorities of Azerbaijan announced large-scale provocations by the Armenian military in the Dashkasan, Kelbajar and Lachin areas.
"Some positions, shelters and strongholds of the Azerbaijan Army in the territory of Dashkesan, Kelbajar and Lachyn regions were subjected to intensive shelling by units of the Armed Forces of Armenia," they said.

The department says that the countermeasures are directed against military facilities, which are firing points.

In the morning, Armenian channels announced the ceasefire agreement. Azerbaijani independent publication Trend Information Agentliyi reported on the restoration of the ceasefire between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

There is no information about the ceasefire on the website of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan. There is also no such information on the website of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia and the website of the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

The Ministry of Defense of Armenia reported that as of 8:00 a.m. the situation on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan "has not changed significantly."

We will remind: an attack on Armenia under the CSTO agreement means an attack on all countries that are in the organization (Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan).
