Fights between protesting businessmen and security forces, which began during the FOP rally on the Maidan Independence in Kyiv has subsided for a while. However, later clashes resumed with new force. The organizers of the action report dozens of victims and urge everyone to take tents and go to the Maidan.
Clashes subsided for a time. However, when one of the protesters asked to set up a tent, it was immediately taken away. The security forces continued to encircle the FOPov, which provoked a resumption of fighting. The police used tear gas again. The protestors behaved resolutely, fought with the security forces, lit firecrackers, firecrackers, and smoke grenades. The law enforcement officers tried to separate the crowd, they created boxes so that people could not move from one side of the square to the other. Motor vehicle traffic along Khreshchatyk was blocked.
The organizer of the action, the leader of the "SaveFOP" movement, Sergey Dorotych, claims dozens of victims.
In turn, as the press service of the Kyiv police informs, there are also law enforcement officers among the victims.
"About 40 policemen were injured during the action on Independence Square. One law enforcement officer was hit on the head during the stampede, as a result of which he lost his sight, other policemen received eye burns," the message says.
In the end, the protesters managed to set up tents.
