Counterintelligence officers of the Security Service of Ukraine intercepted the activities of the enemy's agent network. The group included citizens of Ukraine who were carrying out tasks controlled by the Russian special services of the so-called "Ministry of State Security of the LPR" in the area of Operation of the Combined Forces. This was reported in the press service of the SBU.
It was established that the agents collected and passed on to their supervisors intelligence information about the location, redeployment, number of personnel, weapons and military equipment of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for a monetary reward.
In addition, members of the network also prepared a terrorist act in the place of deployment of one of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Luhansk region by poisoning military personnel with a chemical substance.
According to the results of searches of the residences of members of the agent network, operatives discovered and seized material evidence of criminal activity - means of conspiratorial communication, topographical maps and maps of the area with designated objects of intelligence purposes, materials of correspondence between members of the network and an employee of the so-called "MGB of the LPR" and the like .
The law enforcement officers detained the members of the agent network and announced to them that they were suspected of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Creation of a terrorist group or terrorist organization). The issue of choosing a measure of restraint is being resolved.
An employee of the so-called "MGB of the LPR" was informed in absentia of the suspicion of committing crimes under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Part 1 of Article 111 (Treason) and Part 1 of Article 258-3 (Creation of a terrorist group or terrorist organization).
