Today, October 29, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called an emergency closed meeting of the National Security and Defense Council.
This was reported in the press service of the Office of the President.
It is known that the situation surrounding the fight against corruption in Ukraine will be discussed there.
"We are forced to state that recently there have been signs that some subjects are trying to revise the key parts of the social contract in Ukraine, which provide for zero tolerance for corruption and any form of non-transparency in public administration. This is unacceptable," said the message.
So, at today's meeting, Volodymyr Zelenskyy will propose to the members of the National Security Council to discuss the situation that has developed in the sphere of the country's national security and to make appropriate decisions. We will talk about draft laws that will prevent the occurrence of similar crisis situations in the future. According to the President's Office, they will be developed and submitted by the head of state to the Verkhovna Rada as urgent.
"The crushing blow inflicted by the country's achievements in the field of fighting and effective countermeasures against corruption in Ukraine cannot remain unnoticed. An immediate and strict assessment of the decisions of individual subjects, whose actions are becoming more and more socially dangerous, is necessary," the president said.
It should be noted that the day before the Constitutional Court declared electronic declaration illegal and dismissed the power of the NAPC.
