Part of the funds from the Fund for the fight against COVID-19 will be directed to the production of patriotic series. The corresponding decision was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy.
"This will make it possible to more effectively use UAH 100 million allocated for the creation of this socially significant audiovisual content and support of the film industry in the conditions of the corona crisis," the Ministry of Culture said.
In the previous resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers on this topic, it was noted that the money should be used for the filming of TV series by the end of this year.
"Therefore, it became necessary to provide for the possibility of their use not only to cover the costs of the production of the entire television series, but also to support the implementation of individual periods (stages)," explained the Ministry of Culture.
As a reminder, on April 3, 2020, the Verkhovna Rada adopted amendments to the law on the state budget for 2020, according to which a special fund for the fight against coronavirus was created in the amount of UAH 64,7 billion.
As of October 23, UAH 19 billion has already been spent from the Fund for the Fight against COVID-34,1 — more than half of the funds of this fund were directed to road repairs.
Note that according to the Ministry of Health, 7342 new cases of coronavirus were recorded in Ukraine.
