In November, an exhibition of sketches of the large state coat of arms of Ukraine, which take part in the competition, will be held in the Sofia Kyivskaya National Reserve.
This was announced by the head of the State Agency for Art and Art Education Galina Grigorenko at a press conference today, October 29.
"In November, it is planned to hold a public exhibition of all the sketches submitted to the competition in the premises of Sophia of Kyiv, so that the public and everyone else can come and see them," she noted.
According to her, a jury meeting will be held during this exhibition, which will discuss how to choose the winner of the competition. Grigorenko said that at the moment, 40 applications with sketches for participation in the competition have already been received, they will continue to be accepted until November 1.
The summary of the results of the competition should take place by December 1, 2020.
As reported, on August 25, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to hold a competition for the best sketch of the large state coat of arms of Ukraine.
On September 30, the Cabinet of Ministers regulated the holding of a competition for the best sketch of the large state coat of arms of Ukraine. In particular, prizes are established for awarding the best sketch projects: the first prize is 100 rubles. UAH, the second prize - 50 UAH. UAH and the third prize – 30 UAH. UAH
At present, only the small coat of arms of the country (trident) is approved. Since 1996, the government has held a competition for the best sketch of the large state coat of arms and the best text of the national anthem. In the summer of 2000, the government approved the draft of the large national coat of arms of Ukraine and the text of the national anthem of Ukraine. The project of the coat of arms of Ukraine is an image on a blue shield of the golden sign of the principality of Vladimir the Great (the small state coat of arms of Ukraine is a trident). Shield bearers are depicted on the sides of the shield, on the right is a Cossack with a musket (coat of arms of the Zaporizhzhya Army), on the left is a crowned lion (coat of arms of the Galicia-Volyn state). Above the shield is a princely crown, and below the shield are golden ears of wheat interwoven with red viburnum bunches and a blue-yellow ribbon. However, the legislative matter did not reach the approval of the project.
According to Article 20 of the Constitution of Ukraine (adopted in 1996), "the main element of the large state coat of arms of Ukraine is the sign of the princely state of Vladimir the Great (the small state coat of arms of Ukraine). The large state coat of arms is established taking into account the small state coat of arms of Ukraine and the coat of arms of the Zaporizhzhya Army by a law that is adopted by no less than two-thirds of the constitutional composition of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine."
