The US special services issued an urgent warning to NATO allies about Russia's attack on Ukraine, which is likely to happen next Wednesday, February 16.
According to information from Spiegel, the American special service of the CIA and the military during Friday informed the federal government of Germany and the leadership of other NATO states that, based on new information, there are fears that the attack could happen as early as next Wednesday.
The publication notes that, according to diplomats and military officials, the United States provided many details about secret briefings. The invasion routes of the Russian Federation and details about the tasks of individual Russian units were also described. February 16 was indicated as a possible date for the beginning of the invasion.
Spiegel writes: Berlin did not know what information the US urgent warning was based on. However, it was noted that the US reports were detailed and supported by many sources.
However, as the publication notes, it is impossible to estimate and predict the inevitability of an attack. At the same time, insiders also consider it possible that the United States deliberately spread the information to prevent plans for a Russian attack.
