On Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus released the ambassador of Ukraine, Ihor Kyzym, to hand over a note of protest due to the "unceasing series of anti-Belarusian actions against the embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Ukraine."
"The Ukrainian diplomat was handed a note by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in which the Belarusian side expressed a resolute protest in connection with the continuous series of anti-Belarusian actions against the embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Ukraine and demanded to ensure the security of the diplomatic mission at an appropriate level in accordance with the norms of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of April 18, 1961 g", the press service reports Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.
It is noted that the ambassador expressed concern about the inaction of the competent authorities of Ukraine to suppress provocations and the lack of appropriate measures to respond to the relevant official requests of the Belarusian side.
Also, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus believes that the illegal activity of radical elements in the building of the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Kyiv poses a direct threat to its functioning, as well as to the safety of embassy employees and their families.
"It is stated that the Republic of Belarus expects a reaction from the Ukrainian side in connection with the provocations that took place in relation to the honorary consulate of the Republic of Belarus in Lviv, and it is assumed that the acts of vandalism there will be properly investigated, will receive an appropriate assessment by the law enforcement agencies of Ukraine, and the guilty will be punished fairly ", the message said.
