The Armed Forces of Ukraine are reducing the number of conscripts. Colonel Valery Dendebera, the head of the organization of recruitment of private and non-commissioned personnel of the Main Personnel Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, announced this.
In particular, on April 1, in accordance with the presidential decree, conscription for military service begins in Ukraine.
So, in the period from April to June of this year, 14 thousand 246 people are planned to be drafted into the army. In particular, the Armed Forces - 6 thousand 500 people, the State Special Transport Service - 600 people, the National Guard - 4 thousand 646 people, the State Border Service - 2 thousand 500 people.
"For comparison, last year, 9 thousand people were called up for emergency military service in the Armed Forces in May-July and 7 thousand 500 in October-December. The indicators of the current draft have been reduced due to the increase in the number of servicemen under contract and in order to prevent exceeding the limit indicators of the number of the Armed Forces. Consequently, fewer and fewer conscripts are called up to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, while some other military formations, on the contrary, have increased their numbers," Dendebera noted.
In the conditions of the coronavirus pandemic, the call will be held in compliance with the requirements and restrictions established by the relevant resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers. After their arrival in the military unit, observation activities lasting 14 days will be held for young recruits.
The Armed Forces noted that conscripts, even at their own request, are not sent to the area of the Joint Forces operation.
Recall 30 March Verkhovna Rada deputies adopted the Law "On making changes to some legislative acts of Ukraine regarding the improvement of certain issues of the performance of military duty and keeping military records."
