Odesa region is threatened with an inspection due to underestimated data on the coronavirus

The reason was ignoring the restrictions of the "red zone" of the quarantine and manipulating figures for the Ministry of Health.

They want to send a government inspection to the Odesa region. The reason was ignoring the restrictions of the "red zone" of the quarantine and manipulating figures for the Ministry of Health. This was stated in a message on the Council's website on Thursday, April 1.

According to the chief sanitary doctor of Ukraine, Viktor Lyashko, at the video conference of the parliamentary committee on the health of the nation, the Odesa region did not fulfill the government's task of repurposing beds for patients with COVID-19.

"Of the 4233 beds that should be in the Odesa region, only 3839 were repurposed. If we look at the supply of oxygen, then of the 3300 that were supplied to the Odesa region to provide 80% of the oxygen at the expense of the funds that were transferred under the government subsidy, only 2741," said Lyashko.

Also, as noted by the chief sanitary doctor of Ukraine, the statistics that were officially submitted to the Ministry of Health on the number of beds occupied by patients with the coronavirus and connected to oxygen do not match the information provided by patients and public organizations.

In addition, despite the fact that the Odesa region is classified as a "red zone", catering establishments operate in Odesa.

In this regard, the committee decided to contact the Cabinet of Ministers with a request to organize an urgent inspection of quarantine compliance in the Odesa region and to take measures in case of violations.
