On October 9, the Verkhovna Rada registered the draft law "On the calculation of time in Ukraine", which provides for the establishment and consolidation of the unified Kyiv time on the territory of Ukraine and the refusal of further seasonal adjustment of the hands of the time. First Vice-Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk announced this on his Facebook page.
According to him, the annual transition to summer time and the subsequent return to winter negatively affects people's health: health deteriorates, work capacity decreases, and a significant exacerbation of chronic diseases is observed.
"The adoption of the law will ensure a stable natural cycle of human activity, will contribute to improving the state of health and increasing the working capacity of the population," Stefanchuk is confident.
In addition, he noted that the draft law is aimed at countering aggression on the part of the Russian Federation. As you know, the time of the aggressor state - the Russian Federation - has been illegally established on the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
"The establishment of a unified Kyiv time on the entire territory of Ukraine will make it possible to strengthen our defense positions and will contribute to the de-occupation and reintegration of temporarily occupied territories," Stefanchuk said.
And he added that the draft law will also contribute to the European integration aspirations of Ukraine. After all, 84% of residents of EU countries voted for the cancellation of the transition to summer and winter time, which was supported by the European Parliament.
