For the first time in Ukraine, a patient was taken to the hospital by helicopter. Maksym Kozytskyi, the head of the Lviv OGA, announced this on Facebook on Friday, April 9.
"The first civilian aeromedical evacuation in the country has been completed! A 78-year-old patient with a diagnosis of acute cerebrovascular accident was transported by helicopter from the city of Turka to the stroke center of the Emergency Medical Service Hospital in the city of Lviv! The flight time was 1 hour 15 minutes! The same road distance of 170 km is covered in 3,5 hours!", the message says.
Let us remind you that at the beginning of April in Ukraine, a record number of calls to emergency services was recorded. The Ministry of Health states that the peak load on the emergency medical care system is in the period from November to March.
