In Ukraine, more than 75% of deaths from complications caused by COVID-19 occur in people over 60 years old. This was reported by Health Minister Maksym Stepanov.
"The most vulnerable category of people are people over 60 years old. A total of 77 people or 156% of such patients during the pandemic. At the same time, 25,8% of the total number of people who died from the coronavirus disease are people over 75 years old. First of all, I appeal to the younger generation: take care of your parents, grandfathers, grandmothers, so that they don't leave the house once again," said the head of the Ministry of Health.
According to him, the course of the disease is also complicated by the presence of concomitant pathologies in the patient: cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus, neoplasms, diseases of the kidneys, liver, lungs, etc.
Stepanov once again called on citizens to observe the rules and recommendations of the Ministry of Health established in the country, which will allow to prevent infection and spread of the coronavirus disease.
Note that 303 people fell ill in Ukraine during the pandemic. In total, 638 patients recovered, and 126 deaths were recorded.
