In Odessa, 1000 saplings of white acacia began to be planted in different areas of the city.
During this weekend, October 23 and 24, it is planned to plant about 160 seedlings in:
- Ekaterininskaya near the "Pryvoz" market,
- Alekseevsky Square,
- Sofievskaya street, the corner of the Marinesko descent,
- the protective lane of the "North-South" highway,
- from st. Balkovskaya in the direction of ul. Spartakovskaya
Employees of KP "Gorzelentrest" plant trees at least 10 years old and at least three meters high. This is a special type of tree, which, according to them, should take root well.
Note that anyone can join the action. A thousand bushes are planned to be planted in October.
Let us remind you that there is a legend in the history of Odessa that Duke de Richelieu bought the saplings of the famous Odessa white acacia with his own money in Vienna - and gave them away for free to every Odessa resident who promised to plant a tree and take care of it. Yes, white acacia has become one of the symbols of Odessa.
