In 2020, 3 road accidents involving children occurred in Ukraine, 327 children died, and almost 156 were injured. About this сообщает Public Health Center on Sunday, January 3.
"According to statistics, in 2020, 3 traffic accidents were committed with the participation of children (327 children under the age of 156 died, and 18 were injured), of which 3 were committed by the fault of children," the message said.
Also, in 11 months of 2020, there were 4 road accidents due to drunk driving, as a result of which 118 people died and 97 people were injured.
"There were 58 traffic accidents caused by intoxicated pedestrians, as a result of which 14 people died and 32 were injured," added the Center for Public Health.
In addition, the Center drew attention to conversations on mobile phones while driving, which became the cause of road accidents.
"In Ukraine, there are no official statistics on traffic accidents as a result of the use of mobile phones by drivers. However, it is the reluctance to tear yourself away from the phone that can lead to a fatal accident. If the driver is distracted for at least 2 seconds to talk on a mobile phone or write a message, even at a speed of 50 km/h, he blindly drives 28 meters of the road, during which fatal accidents can occur," summarized the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
