Facebook and Instagram blocked the profiles of US President Donald Trump before the inauguration of Joe Biden. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced this on Thursday, January 7.
"We believe that the risks of allowing the president to continue using our service during this period are simply too great. Therefore, we will continue the blocking that we are placing on his Facebook and Instagram accounts for an indefinite period and at least for the next two weeks until the peaceful transition of power is completed," wrote Zuckerberg.
Note that Twitter was the first of the social networks to announce the blocking of Trump's profile, leaving Trump with the opportunity to use the social network for 12 hours. Then Facebook and Instagram followed suit.
